How to Propagate Your Plants (in style)
We have what you need to get started!
Plant propagation is simply reproducing plants from a mature plant.
Have you ever heard someone say “no” to more plants?! Yeah, us neither.
Whether you want to add to your own collection or share with loved ones, propagation is both fun and rewarding!
The most popular method of plant propagation is using a cutting from a mature plant. That’s where our product will be the tool you need to get started.
The steps you’ll take to propagate:
Decide which plant you want to chop. If you’re new to plant propagation, we suggest choosing a low maintenance plant. Our favorite option is pothos!
Once you’ve decided the plant you’d like to chop, use a pair of clean garden shears and make a diagonal cut just below the node. You can find the node by looking for where the leaf and stalk meet the stem.
Place your cutting in the glass tube that is provided with your purchase.
Fill the tube with lukewarm water.
Sit back and watch magic happen. Within a week or so, your cuttings should begin to root. You will have to practice some patience. It will be worth the wait, we promise!
A Few Helpful Tips:
As your cuttings do their thing, making roots and such, make sure they have plenty of water. The glass tube should be full.
When your cutting has roots of around four inches, you can place it in soil (or keep it in the glass tube, you decide!)
If you choose to put it in soil, be mindful that the roots are used to being in water. You’ll have to give the plant some time to adjust to its new home.
